69. Impacted canines. Orthodontic extrusion

Sometimes, a canine can be impacted within the bone without erupting due to various factors such as lack of space, trauma, agenesis, etc.

One of the treatments can be the extrusion of the impacted canine by means of orthodontic traction.

To do this, an access to the tooth is created through the gum and bone, and a button is attached to the tooth.

Little by little the tooth is tractioned until it is placed in its correct position.

The impacted canine can be in different positions, and depending on it, access will be through the anterior area or through the palate.
